When Swedish-born Erik Joakim Sandstedt took up skiing, becoming a competent skier wasn’t the goal; he wanted to take gold in the Swedish national downhill competition. And in 1994, he did. 

But perhaps because he grew up in his family’s restaurant and catering business, food has always been Erik’s first love. Today he no longer skis competitively, but he still approaches each culinary assignment with that same go-for-the-gold focus and flair.

Erik is professionally trained and fluent in many continental and regional cuisines thanks to eighteen years of experience in a variety of European and US restaurants and resorts. The creativity, eclectic spirit and passion for excellence he brings to food is, however, something that can't be learned. It is a reflection of Erik’s deeply-held belief that wonderful food, beautifully presented, is central to a life well lived.
